Introduced in the early 2000s, the DLH400D is regarded as an exception and versatile, high output HMI light, which is portable, powerful and capable.
This video shows the set-up of the DLH400D, the high-power output capbility, and the means to focus the light tight or spread wide.
You can also use a Parallel Beam intensifier with the DLH400D to provide an increase in light output of up to 500%. This makes the DLH400D perfect as part fo the dedo Lightstream system.
Lightstream is a powerful reflecting system that starts with a dedo focussing light, such as the DLH400D, and uses this in combination with a Parallel Beam Intensifier. The light is focussed into a reflector and then redirected to wherever the cinematographer chooses. Multiple reflectors can be used where a single light, with Parallel Beam Intensifier, serves more than one reflector.
The DLH400D can also be used with attachments such as imager and shutter projector - these projectors attachments can be used in combination with interchangeable lenses. This enables the projection of images, gobos, colours, and patterns, with tremendous light control.
The DLH400D lives up to its reputation as one of the most versatile lights in the world, with a wide range of attachments, tremendous power, and the ability to work as part of the dedolight Lightstream system.
The dedolight 400 series was introduced in the early 2000s - this light won a technical Oscar (Scientific and Engineering Award) with credit to: Dedo Weigert for the concept, Dr. Depu Jin for the optical calculations, and Franz Petters for the mechanical construction of the Dedolight 400D.
